I truly care for all of my clients and I work diligently to help find them the answers they seek. • What should I expect during my first therapy session?
During your first therapy session, your therapist will introduce themselves and explain their approach to therapy. They will ask you to provide some background information and discuss your goals for therapy. Building a trusting relationship is crucial, so your therapist will make an effort to make you feel comfortable and encourage open communication. They will ask questions to understand your thoughts, feelings, and experiences, and explain what you can expect from future sessions. Your therapist may also provide information about mental health and coping strategies. Towards the end of the session, they will summarize what was discussed and schedule your next appointment if you decide to continue therapy. Remember, therapy is a collaborative process, so don't hesitate to ask questions or share any concerns you have. Your therapist is there to support you on your journey towards greater well-being.
  • How is Billing Completed?
Insurance Billing: We accept health insurance and will bill your insurance company directly for the services provided. You may be responsible for paying a copayment, coinsurance, or deductible depending on your insurance plan. Our billing Dept will verify your insurance coverage before your first session and discuss any financial responsibilities with you. This information will be provided via email in a letter explaining your benefits. If you have any questions you can contact our billing department at 1-800-779-1303. Out-of-Pocket Payment: If you don't have insurance coverage or prefer not to use it, you can pay for therapy sessions out of pocket. The self pay rate is $175 for an individual session/ assessment and $200 for couples counseling/ family therapy. Sliding Scale Fees: Some therapists offer sliding scale fees based on your income level, making therapy more affordable for those with limited financial resources. Payment Plans: In some cases, therapists may offer payment plans or flexible payment options to help make therapy more manageable financially. This could involve breaking up the total cost of therapy into smaller payments over time. Credit Card or Online Payments: We accept payment via credit card, debit card, or health spending accounts for convenience. You may provide payment information securely in person or through a secure online portal. Cancellation Policies: We have a 48-hour policy for cancellations or rescheduling appointments. We charge a $175 fee for missed appointments or late cancellations, so it's important to be aware of these policies. If you fail to return your intake forms 48 hours prior to your appointment your appointment will be cancelled and the $175 fee will be applied. What is co-insurance? coinsurance is the percentage of the allowed amount for a covered healthcare service that you're required to pay after you've met your deductible (if your plan has one). Example: Let's say you have a health insurance plan with a 20% coinsurance rate for hospital visits. If the allowed amount for a hospital visit is $1,000, and you've already met your deductible, you would be responsible for paying 20% of the allowed amount ($1,000), which is $200. Your insurance would then pay the remaining 80%, which is $800. What is a co-payment? A co-payment is a predetermined, fixed amount that you're required to pay for a specific healthcare service or medication. This amount is outlined in your insurance plan's benefits summary or schedule of benefits. What is a deductible? A deductible is the amount of money you must pay out of pocket for covered healthcare services before your health insurance plan begins to pay. In other words, it's the initial cost you're responsible for before your insurance kicks in to cover additional expenses. Until you meet your deductible, you're responsible for paying the full cost of covered services out of pocket. Once you've met the deductible, your insurance plan starts sharing the cost of covered services according to the terms of your plan. A deductible is usually an annual amount, meaning it resets each year. You may need to meet the deductible again at the start of each new plan year.
  • How frequently will I have therapy sessions?
Therapy sessions are typically scheduled on a weekly basis initially. As progress is made, sessions may be scheduled bi-weekly or monthly, depending on the recommendations of your therapist and your individual needs.
  • What should I do after scheduling my appointment?
After scheduling your appointment, you will receive paperwork to complete before your first session. Ensure it is completed at least 48 hours before your appointment to avoid cancellation. Review the date, time, and location of your session, and plan your transportation. For virtual sessions, ensure a stable internet connection. Confirm insurance and payment details with your therapist. Reflect on your therapy goals and any challenges you want to discuss. Bring any relevant documents or information to your session. Approach your session with an open mind and arrive a few minutes early to relax and prepare. Be honest and authentic in your communication with your therapist. These steps will help you have a productive and meaningful therapy session.
  • Will I receive a diagnosis?
During your initial therapy sessions, your therapist may conduct a diagnostic assessment to better understand your symptoms, concerns, and mental health history. This assessment may involve asking questions about your thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and past experiences. Based on this assessment, your therapist will provide you with a diagnosis. This is a requirement for insurance to cover your services. If you do not want to receive a diagnosis you can be seen as a self-pay client.
  • How can I get in touch with my therapist?
You can email your therapist directly. Their contact information will be provided to you when scheduling your appointment. Additionally, you can use our secure client portal for messaging if you sign up for this service.
  • What should I do if I am experiencing a mental health crisis?
If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, please call 911 or go to your local emergency room immediately. You can also contact the Alliance Behavioral Healthcare 24/7 crisis line at 1-877-223-4617 or the 988 suicide and crisis line.
